Are there any batteries in BC Vault?

Modified on Tue, 16 Oct 2018 at 09:34 PM

BC Vault uses no batteries and is powered from the USB connection.

Due to FeRAM technology (as opposed to regular Flash) your data in BC Vault is safely stored without any data loss from being unpowered, over 200 years at 35°C or 10 years at 85°C (although we don’t really recommend storing it in a place that is hot!)!

Additionally to that, The memory cells used in the FeRAM can be used for 10^13 read/write operations per byte, which is a significant improvement over the number of read and write operations supported by Flash memory and E2PROM.
